About the PTSA

Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) is an organization that works on the national, state, district and school level on behalf of its members to help unite parents, teachers and the community for the common good of all children. PTSA members help to create a healthy, nurturing environment that improves opportunities for all children and youth. Each membership represents a commitment to "growing healthy students and families" at Eastern High School.

Here at EHS, the PTSA is involved in numerous activities and events, including running the Campus Store for Spirit Wear and school supplies, sponsoring scholarships, sponsoring the Reflections program, assisting teachers and departments with special funding needs, providing hospitality at numerous school events, assisting school personnel in various activities, providing the annual academic awards for students, and many other things.

To join YOUR PTSA, you can simply send a list of the names of the people who are joining (students, family members, friends, etc.) to the school along with $5 per member.  Please let us know the names of the student(s) in case of special drawings or benefits.  There is a link to a form you can use for joining further down this page as well.

Our Campus Store is Located near the cafeteria and school office, the EHS Campus Store offers school spirit wear, as well as many of the school supplies your student needs. School agendas can be purchased for $5 and mesh book bags for $10. Various spirit wear designs allow students and family members to show school spirit! Choose from sweat shirts, sweat pants, and t-shirts. Your Campus Store provides financial support for many activities. The Campus Store is open during lunch every day, and items are for sale at many other EHS events including Open Houses, Eagle Prep, Home football games, and others.

August is the annual re-enrollment month for Community Rewards.  For those of you who are not familiar with the program, it is basically free money for our organization.  4% of your purchases will be donated to the EHS PTSA by Kroger with no additional cost to you. You just need to enroll your rewards card each year.  It only takes a few minutes and the kids at Eastern benefit.
In order for enrolled members to continue supporting The Eastern High School PTSA, they must re-enroll in Community Rewards sometime in August (August 1-31).   Supporters that do not re-enroll in August will drop from the program on September 1st until they do re-enroll.

New members may enroll at any time. Our ID # is 11979

Re-enroll or enroll for the first time at www.Kroger.com/communityrewards or call 1-800-KROGERS, Option #3, for assistance.

Clothing Assistance Program (CAP) - A Volunteer Opportunity

Clothing Assistance Program (CAP) is a program sponsored by the 15th District PTA and JCPS. The mission of the program is to help reduce absenteeism by assuring that students in need of school clothes have appropriate school clothing. This program is operated entirely by volunteers and each PTSA is asked to send 3 to 4 volunteers twice a year to help at CAP. Eastern PTSA scheduled work days this school year are November 28 and April 10 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the 15th District PTA Clothes Closet in the Junior Achievement Office, 319 South 15th Street at Central High School stadium.  We can arrange to carpool from Eastern as well. Volunteers will assist clients and sort and hang clothes. This is a very worthwhile program which needs our support. Please contact Andrea Clifford if you would like to help volunteer on these dates.  asclifford@bellsouth.net

EHS Hospitality Opportunities

The Hospitality Committee provides refreshments for various events throughout the year, including Freshman Orientation, Open House, 8th grade Open House, and Teacher Appreciation, just to name a few. We are always looking for parents, students, teachers and staff to help participate with these events by way of providing food items and/or drinks, volunteering to help set up, clean up or working the event in some capacity. This is a fun way to meet people and get involved in the PTSA at Eastern, without taking up too much of your time. If you are interested or have questions, you may contact our Hospitality Chair Janelle Foster  Janelle@naberlaw.com

EHS PTSA Programs

EHS PTSA is involved in several other programs at the school, and we are always looking for new programs and activities to sponsor in order to benefit our students and our school community.  If you are interested in more information on the programs at EHS, or have ideas for something new the PTSA could help out with, please let us know!  We are YOUR PTSA and here to serve OUR school.
